How are you going with your centre medallion? Are you having fun with it?
Today I'm introducing you to @belloquacity. She is one of my lovely Instagram friends who will be showing you her copy of the Centre Medallion mini/cushion today. She's also using the gorgeous Terra Australia range of fabrics and I know her project is going to look stunning. So, without further ado, let's chat.
1. Tell us a bit about you?
Hello! I’m an Australian homeschool mum of six great kids! I am slightly obsessed with fabric and I love to sew and quilt whenever I can. I also like to try a little garment sewing and making bags or other household and useful items.
2. When did you start quilting?
I took my very first class in 1997 and haven’t looked back.
3. Tells us about your first quilt?
My first quilt was a puffy baby cot quilt for our first born to-be. I’ve come a long way, baby! It’s actually really nice to look back and see where I started, and how my tastes and skills have changed.
4. What’s your favourite part of the quilt-making process?
I love all of it, but the best part is choosing the fabric. Sometimes it takes moments, you just know, sometimes it takes days of back and forth, but it’s all great fun and I love it.
5. What project are you currently working on?
That would be, how many projects are you currently working on? Lots. I love them all. Some are secrets and some will be great additions to our family’s growing pile of quilts. With Christmas coming up, there are lots of gifts in the making, as well.
6. What’s next for you – where do you see yourself in two/five/ten years’ time (whichever you feel like answering)?
I don’t really have a ‘what’s next’ or think of life as where I will be in a certain timeframe; and right now I have no fixed schedule (apart from my current to-do list!). With six amazing kids life is always changing style, pace, and direction. Being flexible about that is very important.
What I know for sure is that I love fabric and I love quilting. I love cutting it all up and sewing it back together. So I hope to still be doing those things for the rest of forever!
7. Where can we find you?
I'm @belloquacity on Instagram.
I really love IG for the instant communication and feedback; and being able to gain inspiration or show your friends what you’re making within a matter of minutes. Blogging deserves a greater concentration and time frame than I can currently afford, so IG is a perfect compromise for me.
