Last year I saw a post on Red Pepper Quilts' Sunday Stash which featured Emma Jean Jansen's Terra Australis. I loved it; a new range of vibrant modern Australian fabrics which includes kangaroos, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, waratahs, grevilleas, Spinning gums and bush sticks in vibrant colours with stripes and spots to complement. This year Emma released Terra Australis 2. It's a brighter range; this time with very cute geckos, boomerangs, maps of Australia and florals.
When I saw Elizabeth Hartman's Aviatrix Medallion I knew it would be the perfect match for these fabrics.
But then, I decided to dream big. And that's when the Aussie Aviatrix Quilt-a-long happened. I'm very excited to be hosting this and that Emma Jean Jansen has graciously agreed to be involved. I'll be announcing more about that on 15 September, but to whet your appetite, here are the the photos. The quilt needs 25 fat quarters and there are 32 in each range, so I'm going to do a pieced backing with the extras. I'll be making one version with TA1 and one with TA2.
Don't forget to pop back on 15 September for details on the Aussie Aviatrix Quilt-a-long; I do hope you can join me!
I'm linking up with Molli Sparkles' Sunday Stash.
